It snaps shut against the front, so the diary stays closed while it is carried in a bag. The clasp has a metallic square set into a matching strap, and it is the main feature of the design.
The year 2027 is stamped in gold on the upper part of the front cover. A faint horizontal stitched line runs across the lower section, and the edges are finished with neat stitching around the border. The corners are rounded, and the surface has a soft, slightly mottled look with gentle tonal variation.
The thermal PU leather gives the cover a smooth, even finish, and the stitched border keeps the outline tidy and firm. On the burgundy cover the gold lettering is clear, and the black cover has a darker, more formal look with a silver-toned clasp that stands out against it.
