RGB light Bluetooth speaker is how Urban Gear describes the Samba (UG-GS14), a compact square speaker with a textured front grille and a braided carry strap at the side. A wide band of colour runs across the top front edge, and a row of small buttons above it handles power, volume and playback.
The light is the first thing you notice. RGB light effects glow across the top, which gives the speaker a lively look on a desk, a shelf or a table at a get-together. The black version makes the colours stand out against a dark body, while the blue version has a deeper, cooler look. Both colour options are available.
Power comes from a 1200mAh battery, and the listed play time is 4 hours. Output is 5W. Besides Bluetooth, this RGB light Bluetooth speaker supports a TF card and a USB flash drive, so music stored on either can be played directly. An FM radio is included, and the built-in mic allows calls to be taken through the speaker.
The Samba measures 9.8 x 5 x 9.9 cm, small enough to move around the house or pack into a bag. The strap makes it easy to hold or hang, and the ports sit on the back, clear of the front grille.
For a speaker of this size, the mix of battery, storage playback and radio is what sets this RGB light Bluetooth speaker apart from a basic Bluetooth-only model. It gives several ways to listen, whether in a study room, a home office, a living room or at a small party, and the lights add some colour to the setting.
